Vacuum Advance

I've got an '89 GW and I'm trying to replace the vacuum advance on it Napa Auto is coming up with nothing and the Jeep dealer says it is obsolete????? Any truth to this? It's just a plain jane Motorcraft looking thing not to disimilar from what's under the hood of my F250. The tag on the distributor is D8FEKA. TIA

I doubt it's obsolete. I can still get parts for the dizzy in my 63. Try a different parts house that knows what they're doing...your fist red flag should have popped up when they asked "is this for here or to go?" :D
This may help...the Chryco part number for the vac adv unit is J8129470.

when i needed a vac advance unit for mine i found one at some parts place. however, the cost for a complete rebuilt distributor at another place was just a few bucks more, with a lifetime warranty. look around! ya never know!
