I decided to see which of the grilles I have look the best on the Cherokee so I put them all on but I just can't make up my mind.

BTW-The tan stuff is getting painted red as soon as it warms up.

Rhino

Only thing with the Rhino would be the fact that I lose my hood release, with the Muscle grille I can just reach in and grab the paddle. I have the head-lights, buckets and clear markers that go with the Rhino. Might use Hellas instead of the Faux Covers

Rhinos belong only on jtrucks and OLD waggys...NOT cheros or Gwags. Just my opinion. I say go with the muscle as I think thats the best grille the Cheros came with and the razor next after that. Dont do somthing ugly like put an egg-crate on it either, those are for wags and Gwags only.

I like the muscle grill myself. Was thinking of going that way with my wagon. But, the strangest thing is happening. I am really starting to appreciate the final edition grill more and more. Well except the square head lights.

I say the muscle grille, or black out the pignose grille.

What I dont like about the pignoses, is theyre so fragile, theres always a crack or a peice broken off. But when theyre in good shape, I think they look good. If yours is decent I'd vote keep it. If not, maybe find a razor? Muscle grille looks good on there aswell.

Well I was just messing arround with what's in my arsenal. Heck if I had all the grilles I woulda tried 'em all on.

I put the pig nose back on, I thought about blacking it out or leaving 2 strips crome but the only other black on the truck is the flares& panels arround the side glass so I dunno how it'd look. I really like the look of the muscle grille but it just doesn't look right on there with the blacked out center, kinda looks like a goofy set of glasses for some odd reason the way it sits on there, not that I have a thing against them or anything. I like the look of the Rhino but I think it looks much better hangin arround on the wall vs the truck, plus it's quite dull& rusty.

Maybe I should invent a new FSJ grille:cool:

I always liked the Pignose, it's what I have on my Jeep, and I have no intention of changing it any time soon. Having said that, Rhino grills look lovely - I don't think I've ever seen a Jeep where a Rhino grill looked out of place. My least favourite is the Muscle grill: I think it makes your Jeep look like anyother Cherokee - if they remember correctly the used that style on the later, non FSJ Cherokees; too modern for me.

totally the rhino. its a much more masculane look than the muscle. the muscle jst reminds me of the bland lack of style and creativity issued out by the late 70's and early 90's. soor to offend any fans of that era. i guess us old farts like things above the media curve.

Yeah, what a rip-off--that wasn't an option. Maybe painting the middle part of a pig-nose would make it less nauseating, but I don't like the muscle grille as much painted that way.

I say the Muscle looks best on your rig. Ya, I said it, your rig. It matches well with the look your building, and the overall appearence and your taste is what counts.

i was smart enough to pull one off a 68 wag (i believe) along with the hood release at a local yard when i got a hood and fender for the 88. the razor grille on the 68 truck had seen better days so i left it.

You can look on my Cherokee for the '80's style you describe. I think they look good that way. I did the same on the '80 J10 sportside as well. Also hides cracks well; although I buy new ones and paint them to match the original '80 grille.
