by order of the State of New Jersey, I'm restoring my AIR system. I've got almost all the pieces, inc. shiny new AIR manifolds that cost more than I care to mention. I don't have the AIR pump, which should just be a $30 Autozone item. I don't have the Dirverter valve, either, is the Valve a dealer-only item or can I get it at a parts house? as a stranger to obsolete impotent smog equipment, is this something I can get at a junkyard and have it be serviceable? price?
lastly, my 360 is not factory, and the original vehicle is unknown. it's got an iron factory 4bbl intake and I'm assuming it came from the same vehicle as the T18 and dana 20 that were also swapped in. there is a mounting pad on top of the AC compressor on the Pass side that I assume the AIR pump mounts. there is one un-occupied pulley on the AC compressor, which I guess I will use for the AIR pump. any idea what year/model this engine is from?

On my 82 360, the air pump was mounted to the power steering pump brackets. It had one small belt that ran to the power steering pulley.
The air diverter valves are available from other sources such as Carquest and Napa. I got installed the Napa ones for $20.00 each.
As with ChargerMD, the air pump on my 89 GW is located below the power steering pump on the drivers side.

The A/C compressor is a York. They were made to mount in many different vehicles in a variety of positions. It was designed with this in mind. It is cheaper to manufacture one universal style case than have several unique ones. That is why you see all of the unused bolt holes. All of the air pumps mounted under the power steering pump. You might need to see if you can find one in a wrecking yard. Or, I do probably have a set sitting in the garage somewhere, maybe.

for $30, I'll probably just buy a new one. I may still need the brackets and pulley, tho.

I got my air diverter valves at auto zone. they were only around 10.00 each. the smog tubes ran around 28.00 for both.
NJ DMV hasn't started looking under our hoods have they? Tell me it isn't so!
Maby if you just wanted to pass the tests you could connect a tank of compressed air to the exhaust manifold and have it shoot air into the exhaust manifold. Would This work? This is just a crazy idea.
