Hey all! Im a longtime Jeep-lover here, an Im only 17! Ive owned my '89 Comanche 4cyl 4spd since July of '06. Its my daily driver and Ive been gunning to get my hands on my friend's '84 Honcho. I want an FSJ so bad that it hurts, so I figured I may join up and learn some about these beasts before I get one to restore.

Welcome to the madness! You don't have a bad taste in trucks either :)
If you ever get the chance to look at one for sale(j truck) look for rot on the rockers, floors, cab corners and especially the fender flares. On mine the bed-sides are completely gone and the LR shock mount is gone, sadly the spring mount isn't that far behind.

I know the jeep-buyers checklist hah! I went through it when I bought my MJ, which had no floor, no brakes and some bed rot. Im keeping my eyes peeled, theres a mint Gladiator here in town and I want it badly. 4spd with the Vigilante 327

You may want to have someone experienced go check out that gladiator for you. I'll give you a detailed report as soon as I get it home. :p

I had an '88 MJ named Frankenjeep. The ONLY thing on the planet better than an MJ is a FSJ. If you hung around the Yahoo MJ forum at all you'll find these guys to be more knowledgable and helpful.
Welcome to it!

the glad doesn't have a stock drivetrain, I don't think aha.
went junkyarding today to get some stuff for the MJ. Hood release so I can do away with the twine tying my hood to my bumper, and a grille off an '85 XJ.
