The time has finally come to lift the old girl. The only definite is 33x12.50r15 Goodyear MTR's, as I am a service manager at Goodyear.
The rig is an 89 GW.I have been leaning towards a 6" lift, with the Procomp shocks from BJ's.I am replacing all the body mounts with their poly kit. Thinking of 15x10 wheels, either 3.75 or 4 inch backspace. She must remain streetable, and able to handle mild to moderate trails. Just kinda looking for some general feedback from folks.:fsj:

I am doing the same, I have the MTR's on my mind I would only suggest you consider 16".

I run 33x12.5 R15's on my J10 and love them. They work really well on the street and in dry conditions. They are not the best mud tire in the sloppy stuff, but WAY better than AT's.
Can you get me a deal on some 37's since you are manager?

Sounds like a good plan. The 8" rims will hold a bead better than the 10" if you are planning to go offroad. I had a setup like Adam with 33x12.50s on 8" rims, except they were BFG MTs.
I guess your a tire guy, so you know what you want. Sorry to say I have not bought a goodyear product since I was feeding my Mustang GT with 2 new goodyears every year at $200 a pop. I could never figure out why the back ones would always wear out first.
I can relate how the various BFGs worked out for me and you can translate into comperable goodyear products for your purposes. I ran the MTs on the jeep. I liked the more agressive tread pattern (compared to the ATs) for off-road. On road, they handled Ok once you got used to wrestling the pavent when it found a crack it liked. They were loud on the street, but not as loud as a Swamper (rode with my buddy). I ran the ATs on my 4x4 Burb. They were good for mild offroad and on the beach. quieter than an MT on street. OK for Uhwarrie on a dry day.

I run an 8" wide rim as well. Not because I am smart, just because that's what I had, but it should hold the bead better if you air down.

One of the things I love about my Jeep is that it is a toy.It is not a daily driver, so that leaves it open to changing my mind. So I got to thinking. After the smoke clearedhttp://www.cfsjc.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif I went out into the garage to smoke a cigarette, I got to looking at the old girl. I looked underneath, and remembered that the PO had installed new BJ's springs less then 2 years ago. So I jumped online, started making a few phone calls, looks like SOA shackle flip, cross over steering yadda yadda, is the new direction. With a little more effort I think that would be my best bet. Plus, now being SOA, that leaves a few more options if some axle upgrades are required in the future.:fsj:
Now If I could just make a decision on rims....:banghead:
