Downhill and gravity took over with American Motors Concrete and Iron Works, high idle stuck, rear main leaks cut down friction co-efficient.....

All good arguments:D

I'm not really ranting...I'll pay the stupid ticket. I just thought it was kinda funny that out of all my vehicles, the GW is the one I get pulled over for speeding in. I never woulda thought it.

THe cop was really wanting to check out your ride, he probably has seen one for sale and was wanting to look at one!

lol Impressive.
I'm lucky to have a 6th sense for radar. I can sense a speed trap coming 3 blocks away...

Don't just pay it - go to court... I have no idea what the traffic court is like where your at, but I fought and won my last ticket. Better to keep it off your record. If anything you might get a reduced fine and no points. In my county if the cop that issued the ticket doesn't show up, then you can plead not guilty and your off the hook....

I can't go to court, and he knew it. It's 6 hours away. The thing is that town has just been on the local news as being a speedtrap, so I was purposely watching my speed. One minute I'm doing 48 in a 50 and then, BAM, I'm being pulled over and told I'm in a 30 zone. He jumped the gun and pulled me over before I even got to the 30 sign. I'm so pissed I want to go to court and fight it, but it would cost me too much time and money to do so. I've been driving for 21 years and never got a ticket, so stupid me, I thought he would cut me a break and at least reduce the ticket. When I realized he wasn't going to, I started argueing with him, which only made him mad.

It's 6 hours away. if he knows that, he probably won't even show. i'd go. if they are anything like here, even when you plead guilty the clerk will drop your fine for showing up. let the clerk know you are from 6 hours away and you didn't know the speed changed because you are unfamiliar with the area. if no cop, plead not guilty. worst case you get it knocked down some 70, 80 bucks? still cheaper than the gas and you might get out of the ticket all together.

OK, now I'm really  . I tried to get the court date changed and surprise surprise, they only hold court once a month. On a Wednesday no less. I was close to there this past weekend and decided that I would go back and see if I really was speeding. I wasn't. The posted limit where he turned on his lights was 50 and I was doing 48 slowing down for the 30 zone just up ahead. So now I am definitely going to court.

whats with all the speed jokes about fsjs. I had my j20 going 95 down the interstate. BUUUUT then the carb crapped out on me.

I think I would wait and see what the fine is. In most cases, it's not worth the time and effort for the court appearance and driving time. If you are more than 100 miles, you can contest by mail.

If you are worried about insurance rates and can go to traffic school, your best bet is to just pay it and do the class, unless you can prove beyond a doubt that you are not guilty.

Last speeding ticket I got was in my Jeepster-61 in a 45. The fine was $160 and I just paid it and went to school. Sitting in court all day missing work would have cost way more than $160.

One rig I'll never get a ticket on the highway for is the old J200:D .

Initially I was just going to pay the ticket. I have since found out that that little town employs 13 full-time police and are notorious for being a speedtrap. The point is that I simply was not speeding and I'm sick of people thinking they can walk all over people.

So fight it!

Yes, fight it! If you indeed slowed down to the posted speed limit before you got to the sign, then you weren' t speeding.

Just revisit the spot and be sure you didn' t miss a sign. Posted speeds usually drop in 10 mph increments.

..

Check every detail on the ticket. I know Cops are brilliant ;) but they often make a mistake on a ticket like; direction of travel, location, color of vehicle, time of issue and numbers. Maybe a photo of the in the area of the speed zone and the amount of speed reduction required.
Thank you Perry Mason!:D

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..
