Snow Plow Package? [Archive] - International Full Size Jeep Association

I know this is a STUPID question but, did FSJ's have an available snow plow package? And what did it come with? I have a Meyers plow with a Jeep/AMC sticker on it, from another Jeep. But my truck has a small plow light/headlight switch mounted in the "extra" hole, bottom left of dash. It looks like something someone bought aftermarket, but there is a factory type cover for all the wires that goes thrugh a rubber plug in the firewall. There the wires branch off to what looks like a fuse block, with no fuses, just connections on the engine side of the firewall, and to the headlights themselfs. When I bought it, there was no plow, or frame , or visable wiring (I noticed at the time) I had the lights wired up by a mechanic, after I put on the plow frame. There were also holes for the plow frame. As always Thanx for any help.

Sorry, I can't answer for sure. I would think that Jeep offered that as a dealer item. I know someone here can answer for sure.

yes...they did. i'm sure Kaiser offered the package until 70, but I'm not sure if AMC had the same deal.

I remember being in a dealer around 1983 and seeing brochures with the plow package.

They didn't come from the factory that way but plows were an optional dealer installed item. Most if not all(?) were Meyers.

My 68 has a Meyers set up on it. I'm sure it was a dealer package put on by Meyer's

yet another reason why our Jeeps rule....how many SUV's of today do you see with a plow package??!!

The answer is of course Jeep had a plow package, the wagoneers and cherokees, including CJ's has what was called a "snow boss" package...included big tires, heavy duty shocks and leaf springs...and the Meyer Plow. I just bought a Meyer E47 on ebay for $500.00, for my '79 widetrack. They also have Jeep technical manuals for special equipment dealing with installation and operation of plows, lights, wreakers etc...I just got one of these on ebay recently as well. Yah it's KEWL....
