I have front locking/unlocking hubs courtesy of Warn,,,but which locker set up should i use for the rear? How can I tell which diff/axle I have? etc etc.

I think i want to get a solution to this one before i go for more llift..

Any advice?

your choice... I like Detroits... but some like the selectable lockers in the rear....

Since it was originally a QT full-time case, you probably have Dana 44s f&r with open diffs. You can pretty much use any locker out there with the p/t kit added. Don't know which brand as I have a f/t QT and lockers are frowned upon with that set up.

If I went selectable, how are they selected !

you have locking hubs in the front, not necessarily a locker in the differential. a locker allows both wheels to get power even when they have little or no traction. this will make your truck wheel a lot better. A standard open diff sends power to the wheel with the least amount of traction. Selectable lockers means that your differential is open or limited slip during normal operation and you can decide when you need to lock it up. This is the way to go if you can afford it esp. if it's a daily driver. Go to howstuffworks.com for more info on differentials etc.
good luck.

ARB air lockers are selectable....

open for normal use and air actuated to lock it for 100% traction of both rear wheels.

in the open position or normal... it works as an open diff... one wheel gets the power.. this is usually transferred to the wheel with the LEAST amount of traction..

Another choice is the OX locker which is the same operation as the ARB except its actuated by a cable....

the newest choice on the market is the Electric locker... same as above with elctric actuation.

any one of the three about is above $500 for the unit.. Detroit locker being the least expensive...

The ARB requires an air pump.. more money

the OX requires the cable.. more more money

the electric is again... more money

thel latter 3 choices are in the neighborhood of $700-$800 to set up

The sweet thing about the new detroit e-locker is that when it's not locked it is limited slip identical to their truetrach, which is considered one of if not the best LSD.

Also, if you can snap a decent pic of your dif, we could prolly make a diagnosis as to which kind you have......

Since its a 75 J10 with Q-Trac...........Pretty safe bet its D44 axles front and rear. ;)

Ive heard nasties about LSD (of the diff variety that is!). Cars spinning out of control on wet roads???? But I would prefer this option I think 'coz I use it more on than off road. Thoughts?
