Axle width?

Does any body know what a wide track rear axle measures in comparison to a narrow track? I know a front wide track axle measures 63" in comparison to a narrow tracks 58". Are the rear axles the same width or are they slightly narrower?

BLT2CRL, I just went out and measured the xtra WT axles I have and the spring perches are 43 3/4 center to center and the backing plates are 53 1/2 inside to inside. Will these measurements compare for you?

I see posted in the for sale section you have a set of WT axle out of a Cherokee. Can you do me a huge favor. I'm trying to buy some axle shafts for the front end of my WT axle(out of a 76 Cheif). I need to know a six number source code. It is located on the differential tag or Six inches from the cast third member. The tag is gone off mine and the sticker is to faded to read numbers. The source is six numbers long and begins with a six. This would help me tremendously.

Hey thanks for the measurements. I get the same 53 1/2 for the inside back plate but I measure 34 3/4 for the spring perches?

blt, The numbers on the front end go as follows..46--13 3:54

Those are the only #'s on the front end that I can see. I double checked the rearend and still getting 43 1/2 on the spring perches.
you're in Pocatello. Might get a chance for some wheelin in between sometime??

Hey thanks for the numbers. I just remeasured the spring perches and your right there 43 3/4. Don't know where I was measuring the first time? I got a buddy from Big Piney WY. How close is that to Green River? I'd love to do some wheeling sometime but first it have to get these axles swapped under the wagoneer.

Hrm....anybody know the width of CJ, YJ, XJ, and ZJ axles? Just to compair my NT too....

Green River is about 100mi south, give or take. We have great wheelin around here but you have to drive about 100mi any direction to camp in the trees. Huntin season is about on us so from obout the 1st of sept on I'm going to be tied up but it would be nice to get together on some runs next spring. There are a whole lot of mountains between us and you so that could work out well.
