Are there any kits made for the J-10? I am sure a YJ hanger would work with he 2.5" springs...but thought I'd check first in my planing stages. I figure this and SOA would be a decent flex and drive.

what your refering to is usually refered to as shackle flip. a shackle reversal is usually when you take the front shackles and move them to the rear of the front spring.
and yes a shackle flip and soa is a great way to go for flex and driving.

Yup.referring to a reversal..(front axle) shackle on the rear..near the old hanger. I currently have shackles in the front. I had it on my YJ and loved the driving quality. My only complaint was the axle walking forward when crawling...but hopefully this will be heavy enough to not have to worry about it.

I'm leaning towards the shackle flip out back, but looking at these thick spring packs...I'm not sre what kinda flex I'm going to get. I'll be cutting the body quite a bit....but don't need much up travel...more droop...so the flat(er) springs may help. I won't be pulling a trailer..mostly a trail truck.
I have seen and heard many a story about waggie springs breaking...is there any vendor that uses a double military wrap on a set of 44044s...that may work in the rear.

Check out www.bjsoffroad.com (http://www.bjsoffroad.com) I have a pair of their 4" rear springs that I'm going to use on my Wag w/ a shackle flip and they look great. The 2.5" Rancho 44044 springs are a good choice. With the bent/busted spring issue, the only circumstances I've run into are with the factory shackle-forward setup. To much force from a front impact stresses out the rear-hard mount and bends the main leaf.
As far as the shackle reversal , M.O.R.E. makes a kit w/greaseable shackles and a sturdy forward frame mount. The kit is made for CJ's but can be easily modified to work with FSJ's. Kit runs $160 ,but I would recomment welding a single tube between both new hard mounts for structural support.
I'm running the Rustys 4" in the rear w/ a shackle flip and I could'nt be happier w/ the ride and flex.

I'm building a similar set-up right now, and since an SOA is part of the deal,, I'm just going to put the shackle to the rear, and angle the spring perches to correct the pinion angle. I haven't got the whole thing mocked up yet, and may even tilt the pinion up about 10 degrees, to help out with driveline angles, then rotate the knuckles back to restore the factory castor angle. I haven't got all the details worked out yet, and I only want to do this once, but the advantage should be worthwhile. The Spring will be tucked right up to the frame, and should help the approach angle quite a bit.
Most reversal kits drop the spring hanger way down, and it just looks like it's set down there to hang on rocks.
Anyways, I'm sure you'll find a kit that can be easily modified to work. I'm just going about it to gain every last bit of advantage, and hopefully not introduce any negatives.
