if i end up getting a balljoint dana 60 how can I hi steer it? I was wanting to put the tierod behind the axle for my application. is it similar to a dana 44? I know it wouldnt be a problem if it was kingpin, i can get the arms off ebay for that setup and seems pretty easy. tell me its the same for a balljoint 60

Ball joints are a whole other monster. I have heard of some companies making arms for them, but I don't know exactly what's entailed. I would assume it requires some milling on the knuckles, but I really don't know.

I think people have milled them to accept D44 steer arms, but I'm not positive. I think you should hold out for the kingpin

I milled the passenger side knuckle to accept a high steer arm back when I was running crossover steering but when I went to full-hydro I mounted my tie-rod on top of the stock steering arms. I just didn't like the idea of high steer full-hydro on a ball-joint axle.
All you hear on Pirate and boards like this is how awesome kingpin knuckles are but personally I think balljoint 60s are superior on all counts with the exception of doing the high steer. It really isn't that big of a deal however especially if you mount on top the the stock steering arms you have pretty **** good clearance. So, bottom line, good choice going with the BJ 60, but I'd probably just drill out the stock arms, make your own tie-rod with heims and mount it up.

I've got a ball joint 60 and I just bought the high steer arms from Dynatrac. They are about the only place I have seen on the web that sells them (could be others, but I never found them). The advantage to the 44s and KP 60s is you can find the arms all over the place.

well i havent purchased my 60 yet but i got this money burning a hole thru my pocket and it seems im having better luck finding a balljoint 60 so i was thinking ahead of how i could hook that thing up before i make muy purchase.
drilling shouldnt be a problem right? something i could do?

what side diff are you looking for???? basically all the passenger drops are kingpin (GM & old dodges), and the drivers side are typically ball joint (new fords, new dodges) with the exception of some 70's/80's fords (driver drop, kingpin, I think, don't quote me).
If you are running a passenger drop t-case, then you should just find a GM D60 and bolt it right in (assuming you dont have post mount springs). Try looking for a pair of CUCV takeouts, they have good gears, sometimes lockers, and are typically low mileage.
