Do we want our own little slice of the pie as a state, or as regions/chapters?

WooHoo. First vote 100% my way. Bet that's the last time I see that again. I hope I can make some of these get togethers sometime.

The way i see it, we could have one big gathering a year, and the individual regions could have more depending on how many are invovled or want to participate.

I voted for just the texas chapter or what ever you want to call it because in the past there has been a lack of participation. About 6 years ago we tried this and it never really got organized. Some one will have to take the ball and run with it......... I hope we do at least have a huge once a year event where we can all get together and check each others rigs out, shoot the bull, and maybe do so wheelin and camping......

i will volunteer to setup a website if we want...
we should get some contact information at least or if i setup a website we can "join" so we know how many people and where from in texas.

Keep in mind that TEXAS has the largest membership at the IFSJA. Several poles have been done over the years and TEXAS ALWAYS wins. It is also a fact that Texas recieved more FSJ production to dealerships than any other state.
Colorado has had a good club for a long time and started the Ouray invasion, no reason TEXAS can't do it on a BIGGER and BETTER scale.

Ok,
Here is the fun part getting it going..
... I thnk we can setup a site just like ifjsa for like 10 a month. Would people be willing to pay like 10 dollars a year in hosting fees? Or does someone have a server they can host websites on (windows or linux).
Thanks,
Grant

We'll need someone to at least run the website/board. I've never done that, other than to be a moderator on a few boards.
Might want to look at someone else to do coordination for big runs (sponsorship, etc).
Personally, I think contact info would be a good thing.
Any other ideas?

I will be more than happy to do all the tech stuff. I program for a living so i have time and enough knowledge to do that.
I am NOT however a good coordinator, IMHO, nor do i know squat about trails available etc. So it would be good if someone more experienced could coordinate the dates/locations. Anyone gonna volunteer?

Count me in. And I would be willing to pay for the priviledge. I am not a teckie so I can't help there. But I would be willing to help coordinate some get togethers. We should get a core group together and meet up somewhere in centeral Texas.

ROTFLMAO! I figured I would get some serious flaming from you Colorado boys beings that I am from Colorado and went to college there. I know how Texans are regarded there well so figured that would start up a spirited conversation with the bigger and better thing here. LOL
For the record, Colorado is my favourite state in the union with no competition!

I think that would be really cool. My son just got a 90 GW for his first car and he/we are ready to start on it. This sight has been very informative so far and we will be looking for parts and advice in the future I'm sure. BTW is there a good FSJ "recycling" yard in the DFW or East Texas area?
Thanks

Heheh, I sense a little competition! :D (thanx for the compliment on behalf of the good folks in CFSJA)
I think it is really cool to see all the different regions/states that have set up clubs in the last several years.
FWIW, we try to do M&G events in Denver, Ft. Collins, and Co Spgs and trail runs west of each of those.

That's what I'ld like to see. M&G, some light drives like a BBQ run, some road rallys along with some wheeling so vehicles of all degrees of restoration and modification can participate.

How do we notify the 360 members that we have in texas? I think that there would be several that might want to get involved. It would be great to send a mass PM or something notifying everyone????? There are probably some that dont check here often???

Nice decal, where do I get mine?
As soon as we decide when and where, I'll put the word out on all the mailing lists and groups. IFSJA, FSJN, 1FSJ, RRV, FSJ-list, FSJ Ownersclub, and probably some others I'm forgetting off the top of my head.
Plus, some phone calls to members that might not frequent any of the above.

I have been busy lately and just saw this info. Although there used to be a Texas Regional Chapter, The Red River Valley Chapter of the IFSJA, but the link is no longer good. I am glad to see a Texas Chapter back.
