View Full Version : buggy springs?
Has anyone ever tried to buggy spring thier ride? I have a '71 wagoneer and with the lack of lift options I'm considering a buggy spring conversion...anyone have any ideas about this? I did this type of setup on my CJ7 and loved it, great flex and smooth ride.

You're meaning a linked suspension? If you're skilled enough to build links, why not just fab up some new spring hangers and go spring over?
Mucho cheapero

I got to agree with Bama.
If you have those sort of skills (no way I do) nothing about that older suspension should stand in you way.

Thats what i'm thinking, no links...I think a 3/4 eleptical suspension would be trick too but would involve WAY more work.
What do you think?

There's been discussion around here of ellipticals but not sure if anybody has ever done it. There's some question about it holding up to the weight of an FSJ
hmmm, I haven't considered the weight...I don't really see why it wouldn't though. i may try this and let everyone know. at the very least I planned on fitting some longer cheby springs on it and getting rid of the post mount stuff.
