went for a lil maiden run this weekend , and ran into a wierd issue for My powers steerin on the FSJ ..

drove out to the trail no problem ...did a bunch of miles on the trail (4-5 hours) and in and out of some snow ruts and rocks ,,u know typical stuff .. and then back out ..

but on the way home the Jeep decided it wanted to blow the power steering fluid out that lil piss hole in the power steerin cap.. which of course just happens to be where my hood vent is ,,so it just happen to hit right onto my drives windshield, ,...nice hey

we topped it up ,,,drove it home ..(about another 10-15 minute drive)

what would make it do that after being out all day? air in the system would have worked it ways out I think long before the trip home , Pump was replaced last trip out (blown pump shaft seal ) ..

the fluid will expand when hot, but I'm assuming it was filled to the proper level. sometimes if you have a leak on the low pressure side (either the return line or inside the gear) it will let air in before you spot a fluid leak. if your fliud looked foamy that would be my guess. also shine a light between your pully and pump. I'd look it over and tighten/replace clamps first.
