I put the Rusty's Lift System on about a year ago and I now noticed the Cow was leaning to the passengers side. I measured side to side and am down 1-1/4" in the rear and 3/4" in the front. Any ideas? I pulled the rear tire and jacked up the unit (not in that order) to check the rear spring. No joy. I have new bushings all around too. Anyone else have this problem? What did you do. Seems kind of early for the springs to sag, especially on the passenger side.

I searched the archives on that problem, found it to be quite frequent because of the gas tank and driver weight on that side. I think that's what prompted RiverBeast to go to the rear mounted tank. AAL's corrected my problem, and will probably go to a rear tank setup so I have room along the frame rail for an air tank.

That was an extremely rare and now highly sought after factory automatic load leveling device. The springs on the right side are a litlle lower so that when you throw your butt in on the left both sides are even.

Sorry - couldn't resist :D

what kind of warranty does Rusty's carry? I'd try calling them to see what they will do.

That's next on my list after I have looked into any other reasons for the leaning.

Tell your passengers to start eating Subway sandwiches.

Long shot...

have you checked all your body mounts?

Talked to Rusty himself. Very pleasent and said he would contact the spring manufacturer (not the same one who made the spring however) and see what they could do. Waiting for outcome of this conversation. Will keep you posted. Measured from center of axle as well as ground to flare lip. Here is what I came up with:

CAMO COW SPRING MEASUREMENTS

RR 20 3/8 36 1/2
Difference 7/8" 7/8"
LR 21 1/4 37 3/8

RF 19 1/2 35 5/8
Difference 3/4" 3/4"
LF 20 1/4 36 3/8

Overload spring - 9/16" gap at end on left, 3/16" gap on end at right

The part about the overload spring is what is telling me that the spring has really sagged and the overload is taking up what slack it can at this point.

This is not as big a differerance as I originally thought it was but the sag was really apparent just after I had driven it and parked it in the back yard. I took the measurements after bouncing the rig at all four corners to settle it on the springs. My original measure ment at the rear was a difference of almost 1 1/4".

i say to get lighter passengers, or to let them drive to even out the ratio. he had a race team for our drag car named "team half ton" all our weight added up equaled half a ton. but there was only 4 of us. surburban rode a little funny.

My girl friend won't like you if she reads this post.

Are you going to make it to Ourey?

Mine is lower on the drivers side after I installed a 4" Skyjacker lift. I convinced myself that this was due to the additoinal pull on the diagonal support bar from body to the axle due to the change in height.

If you have that much binding from a track bar I could consider removing it (leaf springs only) or making it an adjustable unit.
