I was at spring Creek Offroad a few weeks back and I had a little mishap with my Chief. One of the guys I was with snapped this pic and emailed it to me.

We flipped it back on its wheels and off we went. Good times...

Spring Creek Offroad is a good place to spend the day. It is only about 35 achres, so there are not too many trails but all it takes is a good rain to completely change the landscape. You cannot beat it for $5 admission.

I have been there 6 or 7 times and I always have a blast. Plenty for a beginner/intermediate wheeler with a stock to slightly modified truck. I see a few rigs with Rockwells and 44+ tires, but mostly 33" tires, etc...

My buddies and I go once or twice a month. I will PM you when we head out next time.

Well the trick to spring creek is to have something small enough to hit all the tight and tricky 4wheeler trails now those get tricky and really muddy there are a few water holes that will are deep and really effing soft mud I almost lost my jeep many of times. But yeah you can go through the main trails in a decent sized 2 wheel drive truck. You want fun go hit the 4 wheeler trails:fsj:

My truck body is actually "modified" (read damaged) enough that I can hit a lot of the 4-wheeler trails. After a few hundred encounters with the Spring Creek trees, the body has narrowed quite a bit. Plus I have a total disregard for body damage; that is a must for tight, tree-ridden trails. Sure I scrape a lot and I get hung up on occasion, but I am really surprised what the Chief will fit through given enough coaxing.

Sadly, yesterday was likely my last trip to Spring Creek. I am moving to North Carolina next weekend. I will be back in Houston a few more times over the next few months, so hopefully I can get out there once or twice more. It is a lot of fun.

Yeah I have been able to coax mine through some really tight stuff also :D I have also had to back mine out of quite a few trails as the mud would get to soft to plow through or I needed more clearance heigth wise and larger tires. My tranny is messing up pretty good right now i need to replace the front pump seal I let the tranny fluid get to low but it never did slip it would just stop upshifting  but once I get that fixed I wanna spend some more time out there. I would like maybe do a get together out there it would be cool to meet some of the people frome the board.

Let me know when you are going to go up there. We went on Sunday and wheeled until midnight. It was a good time. We ran into one of your mud holes; all 4 of us got stuck before we realized what happened (it was dark and rainy and we all just slid sideways into a 40 foot hole).

I will be in North Carolina for the next few weeks, but I will definitely head up to SC when I get back in town. If my wife doesn't sell my heap while I am out of town!
