i was curious if there was any benefit from having a second air snorkel on the air cleaner. i would set it up only to run when the engine was warm and choke opened. it seems maybe that a motor setup better than stock could use more air. i wanted to stay away from an open element air filter because fo warm up and cold starts.

i wanted to get some input before i put to much time into seeing if i could configure it. thanks

I would think there may be some small gains to be had. Probably not worth the trouble with the stock 2 bbl carb. It doesn't flow that much over 400 cfm. Now if you put a 4 bbl on and stepped up the cam a little or were climbing hills and using the upper rpm band a lot then it is worthwhile.

I wouldn't think the added performance if much at all would be worth the trouble. Save some time and drop in a K&N air filter if you want it to breathe better.
