After letting the Cherry sit for a few weeks I ran it and I started getting a squeaking from the front left tire. Confirm my suspesion and tell me that it sounds like the caliper is sticking. It squeaks from takeoff until you put on the brakes. Press the brakes and it quits.

 check your wheel brgs.... a. jack-up wheel pullout at the bottom to feel if its loose. b. If you've been driving feel hub for heat & compare to other side. c. disasemble, water may have entered in seals.... if so the brg will brake soon or later.. smile.gif ....ds

Correct me if I'm wrong, but its that time of the year, on your side of the world for a bit of moisure to be hanging about. That mixed with fine metal shavings from the disc's would create a nice fine power on the disc's. It would take a few hard braking applications to be rid of this film. In the proccess the film creates the "squeal".
Was the left side the weather side???

graham is on the right track........after a few days of sitting your rotors will develop a thin layer of surface rust. then on initial drive the rust squeeks againest brake pad, press brake pedal pad removes rust!.......I live on the coast in SoCal and if there is fog I will develop rust on rotors overnight!

I have recently developed the same exact problem. It seems to be getting worse. I think it might be a caliper sticking. I am going to find out today, I'll let you know.
Great web site!!!
