i am looking to buy a 2nd truck, a 91 suzuki sidekick I believe it may have blown a head gasket. Apparently, it overheat this winter, the owner changed the thermostat thinking that this was the problem and it isn't leaking any antifreeze fluid, (good sign says the mechanic) He heard from a mechanic that he may have blown a head gasket. I am looking to buy this truck, so how can I be sure and test this theory besides doing it. Are there any indicators to show me what is wrong? It still wants to overheat. How can I solve this problem?
Please send me a reply if you can help. Thanks.

Hello fellow CANADIAN,I aint a genius, but look in the rad for an oily fi;m.or a brown sludge.Check the dipstick, and see what the oil looks and smells like.I take it,it has an electric fan probubly too hey,If it ain't working thats the problem. If not, Mabe try a compression test.Wifes uncle had the same thing happening with his ford. Was a head gasket.I would suggest getting an estimate on repair before you buy it.A freind had an 86? sidekick, and had to get a new carb for it.Was way expensive,he got a rebuild for 700.oo $ Can.Their expensive.I hope I did'nt pop you bubble.Better to know before you buy it though.Hope I helped you some ?????
