I just got done putting in new Sylvania's twice as long lasting, THREE times as bright, headlights. When I went to turn them on to test them out, they were just as dim as the old Halogens I had in there! What is up here? Any ideas guys? Thanx.

is it daytime? :D are you using a relay? and are the + and - connected to the batter itself?

I had a similar problem when I switched from square to round. Turned out the contacts in the plug thingy were stretched out... What I did was pulled them out one at a time and clean them up real well a dremel to get good contact then pinch the clips together a little bit with some pliers.

Hope this helps,
Anthony

Well, after chasing wires and doing some basic tests, I have come to the conclusion that I need new connecters, wire and a new ground. I am going to do this tomorrow and will let the list know. Thanks for the help.

I had the same problem. New ground cable between the engine block and the chassis. Use a batterry cable.

Yup sounds like a bad ground. First thing I would look into. Turn on you headlights and take a jumper cable and hook it on the NEGATIVE post of you battery then hook the other end to your front clip, or rad support, bet they get brighter, it is usually the ground wire beside the battery that is attached to the inner fender that gets rusty and is a lousy spot for a ground for the front clip to boot!
