How 'bout hotels/motels, convenient?
I want to make this in the worst way but I have the feeling momma won't be into camping with a 6 month old. She may, but if I can find an alternative...
Maybe I could drop her and the kids at my Aunt Rox's place in GJ and...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/rcasey/smilies/wife.gif ...never mind!

Dear Sir,
If you read the web site we have going for this:
http://frontier.net/~mystkblu/07ouray/
Just above the KOA Map you will see a link for other lodging options (http://www.cfsja.org/2002/planner/lodging.html).
(Note: Discounts mentioned at that link only applied to the 2002 Ouray FSJ Invasion.)

Too much reading...this was much faster! :p

Which is the closest to where y'all meet for the rides?

We "brainstorm" our rides each night around the campfire then gather at KOA in the morning and take off. Since this would be your first trip to Ouray (hopefully! ), you may just want to meet with us at KOA or we could pick you up in town. Sometimes we gather at the south end of Ouray before heading out as well. You can tell from my gibberish that these Invasions are not very organized. ;) The trails start in many places and there is usually some downtime at the trailhead to air down and such too.
The KOA is typically the farthest from where we go ride as we usually head south from Ouray to the trail heads. Anything in town should put you within 10-15 minutes of KOA.
This next year, we do want to get out for the trails earlier. I would say 9AM at the latest. We do not want to be crossing passes after about 2PM if we can help it. The lightning/rain/hail/ice/snow storms can be wicked as witnessed this year. Not trying to scare anyone, just be prepared.

Maybe Phil got some video coverage. He definitely got plenty of sleep the night before that "Agave Run From Hell" :alc:
Nothing like a belly full of fermenting tequilla and a mountain hell bent on scaring the $hit out of you.

At the time it was all going on, not many pix were taken. This is the last "obstacle" we had to make on the way down to Telluride. Yes, the culvert used to be under the trail...
