Tonight I mounted my front spring hangers. After that I mounted the front of the springs and rolled the 14 bolt axle under.
Now the problem. When put into position the springs are off by about 3/4 an inch from the perchs on each side? The springs line up with the back of the frame good.Is this normal?
The best way I saw to remedy this was to remove the perches and put new ones on where I need them.Any other suggestions?
One more question if I do replace the perches what angle should I shot for on the pinion?Pointing at the Xcase or parallel with it?

Few things you are going to have to do, #1 is check the frame width at the hanger locations, front and rear, I am pretty sure you are going to find the frame width to be different. I staggered the rear hangers to make up for the differance. #2 Yes you will have to relocate the spring perches on the axle. #3 You will want to set the angle of the pinion so that it is within the operating range of the U-Joint and matches the angle of the angle of the U-Joint at the T-Case .

Pete - did you inboard your springs and if yes, do you have any pics or your handiwork (I use that term very loosely... ;))?

these are some old pix but you get the idea one word of advice dont use such big shackles. I also redid my front mounts that are a little cleaner than the I-beam

i did it as well. your rear hangers are going to be off from the front. the frame widens at the rear for some reason.

Ok for some reason I was thinking that thee frame was the same width front and back.I was so sure I didnt even measure. There I go thinking again. At least I already have the perches it should go smoother now. Thanks

If your springs aren't parrallel you're going to have bushing and binding problems. ;)
