If its a T-18A or a T-4 I'd get it but if its the !76 dont bother because they are junk.

It supposed to have only 40K on it, and not sure if he said CJ2....I will hafta call him again later, I am not familiar with any of the CJ's at all...so I can't say whether it is "a T-18A or a T-4."

First look for the shifter to find out which tranny it is. If it's from an 86', it would be either the T4 with the "S" shifter or the T176 with the straight shifter. It won't work because the D300 drops on the wrong side to the front diff. The shifter will be under your AC vents. The crossmember won't work and if it's a T4, it won't last very long behind a 360.

You don't want something that old. The gears probably aren't even synchronized. You'll be grinding all day long.

Waggies came stock with T176's in the '80-'84 era. Best bet would be to find a parts-truck with the complete setup; otherwise you'll be chasing parts from now till the end of time. You'll also be switching to an NP208 part-time transfer-case, so grab the driveshafts as well.
