Alright, I searched, and I swear someone posted pics and everything at one time, but I can't seem to find it. For SOA on the front, you have to make that little pin point down (into the axle spring perch) instead of up (which it already is). So you clamp down the spring pack real tight, then what?
And on these 63" rear Chevy springs, how do you take off that bottom overload leaf? I assume the same methods apply for both cases. Removal and replacement of that pin. I just need more details. :banghead:
Thanks!

The pins are just bolts w/ a round head vs. a hex head.
Simply remove the nut (or what't left of it).
Just like removing a bolt w/ a rounded or stripped head.
Highly recommend using new pins, or 3/8" fine thread bolts w/ the heads ground smooth.
They tend to strip very easily.

Clamp it, pull it, reverse it.
Same strategy for removing the overload.
Dorman makes spring pins, they come extra long and will need to be cut down after they are installed. Or, like Tony suggested, make some, just do not grind any more of the bolt head than is needed, I have had to do that several times when the better parts stores were not an option.
I like to use these.....can get them at the hardware store and don't need to grind the heads.
