Well, I put in the Ford TFI upgrade about a month ago, had the timing adjusted, and that got rid of most of the knocking. There was teeny bit under load, but barely noticable. However, today after driving on the highway for a few hours combined, it started to knock again. Is there a chance that something isn't holding my timing in place? I don't know much about this, but would like to. Thanks

Ted

It's probably something affecting your vacuum advance.

One theory is that with a warmer engine your vacuum advance doesn't get pulled hard enough because of less dense air. Try cutting the vacuum line to shorten it; with less volume from which to draw a vacuum, you might get a more responsive advance.

Also, in your TFI upgrade did you install stronger vacuum advance springs? They could be too strong.

No I didn't do the springs. Where is this vacuum advance line that you are talking about?
