thanks for the compliments guys. i couldn't have done it without the help I had.

for the rear we've already thought about that and we plan on adding just a few more tubes to beef that up. triangulation....indeed
right now I'd feel comfortable wheelin' it but I'd feel better when that back gets a few more bars.

Very nicely done. I was wondering who was going to be the first to say more triangulation :D

A chop top makes caging our rigs very easy. You rolled your rig on purpose didn't you...just to make installing the cage easier. Besides if you had the hard top no one would see the really cool design of the cage.

You deserve

not wanting to sound like an armchair quarterback but...

IMHO it looks to me like the two rear tubes are primarily for looks. I like the look. Most of the weight will be on the a-hoop in a rollover because of the engine weight. Maybe a little different in your situation because of the toolbox and fuel cell. Since you don't have provisions for any rear passengers, my primary thought on more triangulation is to brace the b pillar hoop back toward the back roughly where the strap is shown in this picture:

http://rebelrockrunners.org/gallery/d/18941-2/DSC01692.JPG

and then back down to the frame from there.

It might also need some lateral triangulation on the b-pillar as well.

I like how the tubing sits in the notch in the toolbox!

Very nice! So nice in fact, I can't think of anything smart***ed to say about it. Looks sharp! Where's you racing numbers gonna go now that the doors are gone? Maybe some panels on the back of the B-hoop, like a trophy truck?:drivin:

Lookin good Nick. One question, isn't going to be a PITA to get in and out of the seats? Seems like the tube going across the door area is pretty high. I usually see them angled more towards the bottom of the front of the door for better egress. Maybe I'm just missing something. Making not:thumbsup: es for my cage!

I was wondering that too... I was going to ask above but looking through the pictures, OC doesn't sit very high as far as climbing in goes (compared to my truck). Judging by some of the pics with someone standing next to it, it isn't out of the question to think that you could grab the top of the roll cage from the ground and pull yourself up and slide in. At least that is my take on it... I could be wrong (where is JYG when I need someone to contradict me from left field?) It might be a bit of a jump if you need to leave the OC where the door is over a low spot on the trail.

Alright ******, quit hammering on my work!!! Just kidding guys :p Let me address a few issues.

1) The rear bars are for a couple reasons. First, placing the bars directly behind the B pillar like Brutus said would cut off valuable space. I still need to access areas around the fuel cell (as in to fill) and I wanted something to protect the rear box. This area also provides a point for future additions. I'd like to add a spare one day and also I thought about mounting a rear mounted radiator somewhere back there and those bars are the perfect place to start a mount.

2) The arm bars sit perfectly next to the seats. I like that. It sucks not having a place for your arm to rest. The angled piece is also a nice grab point when riding. Typically, in the past I've seen where the bar comes down at a angle and allows easy entry and exit. With this design I think it helps to hold myself and passenger in better even though I have the 5 points. I just liked the added security. Also, it's not that bad to get in and out of. I just do it Dukes style ;)

3) Coor's beer is good beer when you can drink it all night and not be hungover the next day!!

Sweet work, looks real nice. My only thought is that the rear bars might be better off starting at the top corners of the rear of the cab portion of the cage, and going straight down to the top of the tailgate at each corner in the rear, with an X in between them. That would be a little tougher and would also help prevent the rear of the cage from getting caught on anything that might stick into that opening there behind the cab. Still looks really cool and it's really nice. And coors tastes boring.

Are you filling OC's fuel cell from a KC135 Supertanker or something? :D I am thinking about what would need to give way for the entire cage to crush you and your passenger... Right now it looks like the two rear bars are the main deterrant for the cage to collapse toward the rear wheelwells. The bar doesn't have to be exactly where the strap is in the picture. Even if it went 1/2 or 3/4 of the way up the b-pillar it is WAY better than nothing there. Of course I am speculating for any JYG's out there. :D

Are you going to put any gussets in the cage? You AT LEAST need to put one bottle opener gusset on each side... for good measure!

http://www.bluetorchfab.com/oscomm/catalog/images/bottle_gusset.jpg $4.99 each on Blue Torch Fab

DB... you didn't grind them like it says on their website (http://www.bluetorchfab.com/oscomm/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=180_49&products_id=162):

"The gusset comes to you in a non-operating form. Depending on which side you want to open the bottle you will have to use a die grinder or file to angle one side of the edge that comes in contact with the bottle top. Just make sure to file the side off that will make it operate on the side of your choice."

I love it that you have multiple bottle opener gussets in the background of those pics :D It looks like something I would do... I wouldn't want 3 of my buddies to have to WAIT to use the bottle opener gusset on my rig... Waiting and drinking don't mix!

thanks for the heads up on having to grind it, (which is what i was going to do anyways) that was not on their website when i got mine (about 1 year ago).
i was actually working w/ BTF to try and get them to work, but they just stopped answering my emails. guess they just put that disclaimer on their website as the answer.

I am curious if you could grind from both sides and make it work from either side?

well most of the time we drink Kokanee up here, and the good ole' boys back home either like Pilsner, Budweiser, Canadian, or Coors Light.

Us cheap youngster also consume Lucky Lager ("cause you might get Lucky") or Olympia ("it sure as hell must be the water")

Tisk Tisk... y'all must be drinking light beer in Utah. :D Light beer isn't a low percentage in some states like it is in others. I don't know about TN, but I bet it isn't much different than Texas. In Texas, Coors Light will definately get you drunk. Heck, I'll grab a Coors Light by preference. (that is if Keystone Light isn't available (which is highly unlikely in this college town)). :D
