ok all,
i know i just got back, but im trying to get the jeep going again. and after a feul pump change and a carb and intake swap there is still no fuel getting to the carb. is there a known problem with the pickup tube breaking/ falling off?? cause i dumped 5 gallons in the tank so i know it has gas but it still isnt getting to the carb. i know its pumping because it has pressure when i pull the fuel line off??? someone help me!!!! because its really wasting my time!!

Ouch Jeremy
This is gonna piss you off buddy but there is a sock (screen) around the pick up tubes on these older rigs inside the tank. Problem being that it's not removable (at least not on the 68 or the 70, same tank, baby coffin style).
I had to physically cut open the top of the tank and remove, clean and repair these. Then purge the tank and weld the area back on, which in turn melted all the solder around my filler neck.
I don't recomend doing this, way too time consuming.

How I narrowed it down was:
1. Disconnected and blew air back thru all tank lines so I knew they were clear.
2. Set it up and ran it off a gas can (use the return line too if you have it).

I hope you get lucky and find it's a clogged or bent line, bad filter (I have one right after the tank) or something simple.
