I'm in the process(still!) of going SOA on my 88 Wag. I'm using 77 J10 springs in the rear since they are in better shape than the stock ones I have. My question is: should I remove the thick straight leaf at the bottom of the spring pack? I'm thinking I should so I get more flex, but I'm not positive if the springs will/should go past flat anyhow?
Thanks!
Slightly different build on my setup with the 63" GM springs but I approached it this way.
I left it in for the first mock up, just to see where things sat.
Came out to high so I removed the overload.
My thinking was that it would be easier to take it out just once, rather than have to take it out then put it back.

I put the short Cheby springs on mine, but I removed the overload spring. I did have to adjust Todds kit for max lift to compensate. There was just enough adjustment to make it level...

Cool, looks like the consensus is to remove the overload spring. That's kinda what I thought, just wanted to double check.
Thanks!
