If I'm playing in real sloppy mud do I run a chance of breaking anything if I engage the e-drive to help keep me from getting hung up, for the whole time I'm mud slinging? I've gotten stuck a few times and the e-drive didn't help much after I was up to the frame in yuck.
Thanks

All E-Drive does is locks the front and rear outputs in the T-Case together. Rule of thumb is, if you have wheel spin lock it in E-Drive. It is not that it will give you anymore traction..............it is just a whole lot easier on the clutch in the Q-Trac.

you should be in Edrive BEFORE you get in the mud. but never the less, dont do it on the fly. you should be stopped first
yeah, I think "emergency" drive is a misnomer. I think they call it that so the soccer moms will know not to drive it around in E-drive, but for the most part, my rule of thumb is that if I am offroad, I engage E-drive. As mentioned, it is better to have it engaged BEFORE you get stuck, and I tend to forget to engage it if I am trying to switch back and forth.
Last summer I was on a trailride with a big group of people going up a real steep climb that I had driven with NO problems in years past and I absolutely could NOT get up it. There was wheel spinning (should have been my first clue), hopping, carburetor stalling, etc. and I tried it like 4 times and nearly broke a U-joint or something when I realized that I did not have E-drive engaged. I turned it on and walked right up it
