HEy guys, I've never seen what 35's look like on stock wagon slot rims. Does anyone like these rims enough to actually run some good rubber on them? I'm curious. I've always loved the hot rod look of these old slots and I went ahead and bought a set, great deal I think, and I'm contemplating 35/12.50/15s on them, am I risking popping a bead pretty easy when I air down?
Should I stick to 10.50s if I go with 35s?
I see that Interco makes a 34/10.50/15 and 34/9.50/15, anyone got these?
Also whats a q78/15 size tire?
I'm just wanting to see some pics if you have any of your tire/wheel combo? I want that good look that works off road. A lot of you have it from what I've seen.
Thanks,
Mario, Ft Worth, Texas

You are LESS likely to pop a bead with a 12.5" tire on a 7" rim, as the bead pops from being pushed IN, not from being pulled OUT.
Run the 35"x12.5" on the slots; it would look cool and work well off-road.
FWIW, I run 38"x13" tires on 7" rims, and it works great.

Ive asked that same question here as I run the 5 slots as well (and love the look of them too!) Ive been told to not go any wider that 10.50 on them. I havent done it yet or know much about anything so dont take my word on it. lol

For strictly street-driving, 31"x10.5" are probably the most you'd want to go.
For off-roading, however, there really is no limit.

Interco website says it's a 35.5"x10.8" and suggests using them on a 6.75" to 8" wide wheel.

I run 35x12.50 Goodyear Mud Terrains mounted on early 70's stock 7" slotted mags. Works great and, with a little elbow grease, the mags polish up great. Here are a few pictures:

The 7" rims work great when aired down. If this is a DD you will get more wear in the center than on the sides but not enough to offset the cost of new, wider rims.:drivin:
