Got some questions and I'm going to show my ignorance. First, off can you run a circle track cell with Pro-jection? The fittings are on top and the guy I spoke with said that it won't work good. He said for EFI you need a to have the fittings on the bottom of the cell in order for it to siphon naturally. He also said the pump doesn't suck, it pumps  Well, I can understand that to a point but will the siphon from the top of the tank not hold? I bottle beer quite often and the beer has to travel up my siphon and over the lip and then down to the bottle. So i don't see why the same principle won't work.

Also, just to make sure I'm not doing this wrong. The circle track cells have 2 fittings, an outlet and a rollover valve/vent. This is because circle track cells are designed for mechanical pump systems. This means I have to tap into the lid and put a a regular fitting so that I can have a return line off of the Pro-jection right?

Thanks guys I just need this cleared up before I ruin my cell.

That's BS. My old fuel cell has the siphon and return in the top. It will work fine. You do need a vent however. It may work without one depending on how well your cap seals but I'd add a vent so the cell can't pressurize.

Here's my old setup. You can see the siphon and return in the top. You can't see a vent but that's because I had a vented cap that's not shown in the pic.

i remember yours but with mine I have an outlet and a vent. i don't have a return line fitting I can tap into. I ordered a part from Summit and I should have it fixed soon. That's the reason I was getting so much pressure in my cell to begin with.

RJ44, did you have to stand on a ladder to fill that thing up?

just get a bulkhead fitting and put that into the cell that can be for the return. i had to do this on my cell.
the fuel fitting are fine on the top (as andrew stated) just try and mount the pump as close to the cell as possible, as they do better pushing rather than pulling, (but that short ammount of pulling is fine.).

heres my new setup for the cell. then vent is the fitting that has nothing on it for now.

and in the second pic the pump is just after that filter.

All modern fuel cells and even factory gas tanks are siphon from the top. This helps to prevent dirt and debris that collects in the bottom of the tank from being pumped through the fule lines.

He's actually right about pumps don't suck as well as they push. That's why electric pumps should be located at the rear next to the tank instead of at the motor like the old mechanical pumps are. All fuel pumps do have the ability to suck a little bit, but some are better than others. Factory electric pumps are located in the tank mainly to help prevent vapor lock. The liquid fuel actually helps to cool the pump. A frame mounted electric pump will still work just fine, they are just more subseptable to vapor lock.

sounds like what i have is ok then. i think i'll install the bulkhead fitting and call it good. thanks guys.

yeah, it'll work fine if you run the return on that bulkhead and leave the vent so it's not puking gas out if you roll. I had a crappy old aux tank mocked up in mine like this, i'm gonna swap it for a cell with the same hookup.

What kind of hose are you guys running? Ths stuff I have now is plain rubber fuel hose and I'm certain it's not up to the 15-20psi pressure of a GM EFI pump (btdt, split hose + timing backfire = starts a fire with just 7 psi, amhik, almost burned my parts dodge down, lol)

i ran rubber line for about 2 years and it was still ok but started to crack where it was exposed to the sun. i now run all al line and some braided up to the throttle body.

i'm cheaping out right now with the rubber fuel line but hopefully i'll upgrade later.

The yellow hose in the pic I posted was some bling bling Goodyear hose. On the buggy I run some sweet braided textile hose. It's really easy to work with.
