84 lockouts

Can lockouts be put in a 84 GW with full time 4whl.

I'm not sure if that would work very well with the front axle disconnect on the 83/84 front axles. If it is working properly you should not need locking hubs.

however...it sounds like you have a vacuum problem or the shift motor has gone bad. let us know...we can help. =)

I have been told that the vacuum motor is bad.Does anyone know where i can get good parts?The salvage places here don't keep them long.I am also looking for a front axle diagram if anyone knows where i can download one i would appreciate it.

all the vaccuum motor does is slide a shift fork to make the front axle "live". There should be a small box with 4 bolts behind the axle that has the fork in it. you can force it over with a c clamp or something similar....but you will be dragging around a live front axle all the time, which in my opinion is not all that horrible. some say you will lose 1mpg and it will handle a little worse but i dont buy it. =)
