Hi my name is Rob and i own a 95 XJ that ive been tryin to build up over the past 2 years buts its bein to much of a PITA, so ive decided im gonna bring my 90 Waggy back from the dead. She's been sittin for the past 2 years in sorage due to me loosing the papers to her and havin a blown trans. ive got a set of 36" Irok's i plan on runnin and am in the prosess of gettin a D60/10.25 combo out of a 02 F350. from doin a little research on here i see that ill have to outboard the frt springs, wich ill have a friend do since hes helpin me with most of that fab work. as for lift im doin a SOA up frt and a shackle flip out back. Also What Tcase do i have? i have a vacum switch on the dash to go from 2wd to 4wd and a lever under the seat to go into 4low.? can the stock tcase hande a mild 360, 36" tires and a heavy right foot? or is there somthin better i can swap in for fairly cheap? sorry for all the questions, im just lookin for some tips and advise.
Thanks Rob.

Hi Rob... You will have to excuse me... the title of the thread makes me laugh  style. According to the former FSJ magazine... XJ's are FSJ's.
Anyways, back to task... Welcome to the forum.
I haven't read about outboarding the springs. I would worry about your 36" irocs hitting the springs in a turn faster than they would hit the springs/frame while the springs are under the frame. This could severly limit your turning radius even more than having the big tires...

Not sure on the Tcase. I am not a fan of chain driven t-cases in combination with a heavy foot.

Your transfer case is a 228/229 with vacuum engagement. You might have to figure out some way for that to work with your new front axle. A Jeep NP208 would be better under there if you don't like the idea of vacuum lines.
My advice: do a search. There are many, repeat MANY, topics, discussions, and pictures on this site that will help you out.
Welcome!
Your stock t-case will work with the ford 60 but your drive line will be aligned like this \ because the pumkin on the newer Ford 60s is farther to the drivers wheel than the late 70s Ford 60s or the Waggy d44s.
I ran mine for a while with the stock t-case but mine had the vac front end so it required a loop to connect the vac from the dash switch to the t-case. If I am not mistaken your stock front end is non-vac soooo it should be very easy to dial that in.
I would guess your biggest problem will be the steering because you have a balljoint 60. Sure there is ways to get around it tho.

Well, I'm sure he can find it on his own since he found this place :)
