I bought a 3" lift awhile back. Well what happened is what allways happens is I need more tire now. I have a '84 grand. I would really like to get 35's under.
I would like to shy away from a 3" Body lift. I wouldn't be against a 1" or maybe a 2". I also don't mind cutting the fenders.

Some thoughts I had where add a leaf for the front (2"), blocks for the rear (3") I was thinking it would be nice to level the sucker out. I would have to also buy brake lines and a pitman.

I would rather keep this as low as possible to get 35's in. I do alot of trail riding and I would like to keep the cog low.

Also people that have 35's what gears do you run. I would like to still be able to go down the highway pretty good (at least 70).

thanks in advanced for your time

if you don't mind cutting the fenders, just cut them about 5" and you can fit 35's. That'll keep you low and keep the cost down. For gearing on 35's, you'll want to be in the mid-4's.

It sounds like you are considering adding add-a-leaves to a rig that already has a 3" lift kit on it? FYI, in case you are ---> that won't work. Add-a-leaves will only "add" lift to a non-lifted spring. THey add arch to a spring and your 3" lift springs are already arched. You will prolly only get 1/2" of lift or so from your AALs if you add them to a 3" lift pack, and they will make the ride get much worse.
Like billyrb wrote, just start trimming the fenders till you fit what you want. The only other option is to go back to the drawing board on your entire suspension system.

I am not sure I understand this right...

The 3" lift is bad?

Or the decision to buy a 3" lift for 35" tires bad?

Okay, sorry, I had to ask... :D

I think he's alluding to the fact that the "bad" part was the fact that he purchased a 3" lift knowing that eventually he'd want larger tires, and when purchasing the 3" lift, he knew that it wouldn't accommodate the larger tires.......... ;)

Yes I let a buddy of mine talk me into getting the 3" because RC is like a 2 hour drive from my house. Idiodic because for what I spent it would have not been much more to get bj's and have the lift, with all the goodies. I also let him talk me into buying AT's instead of MT"s so I don't know whats wrong with me.
