I am looking for a set of good, preferably new, bump stops for my hood. These are the two spring-loaded units on the left and right and "catch" the hood as it comes down. They also keep the hood from rattling as you drive. Would the units off any other vehicle work? The NAPA guy just says "sorry, we don't have those for a 79 Jeep" They're not allowed to cross reference, I guess.

The bump stops on my GW aren't spring-loaded; they're just a height adjustable threaded stud with a rubber cap on the top. This guy has the rubber caps only, but at $15 a pair, you gotta really like new! I just molded some RTD sealant into a ball on the top of mine!

To the best of my knowledge they are all pretty darn near the same.
I have the rubber stops from a 71 Buick Skylark on the 85 clip on the 70 wag (yea, big mouthfull there, hey who cares), they all looked the same and work the same for me.

O'Reilly's used to carry the rubber caps for the stops when I worked there. Might give them a try since they were not expensive at all.
