Well I got home last night with KYJ10's 81 J10 buggy that I bought. There are several things to finish up, one being the brakes. How did you 4 link guys run your rear brake lines from the frame to the rear end? Pics would help.

You lucky SOB! That's gonna be a fun ride! You going to be at the ECI 2007 with the War Buggy?;)
I don't know how they run the brakelines, but I'm jealous.

Yes I will be there but without all the tools as I now need the trailer to haul the War Buggy. I hope to get everthing done so I can have a shake down run in about 3 weeks.
Very nice, glad you were able to make that go to a good home.
I do not no squat about that type of rear suspension but logic tells me you are going to be leaving a hard line at the remaining frame and some serious length of SS flex down to the axle, with more hard line and SS flex out to the ends.
Pretty sure you can purchase the needed lengths, if you are in a major metro area it should be quick enough to have them made up.

I've seen them go from hard line at the frame to a section of flex, then hardline down the link, flex to the axle, then hardline again on the axle. Thats one way that i've seen it.

Well, in my friends comp buggy we just used braided steel line from the caliper across the axle to the link. Then up the link and at the frame it goes to hard line. Its alot of soft line but its also easy. You have to run a soft line from the caliper to the axle, then you could run hard line over the link. the another soft line from axle to the link. the up the link with hard line. I think you get the picture. You have to decide if your going to use cutting/steering brakes? then you have to run a separte line to each wheel from the cutting brake. if not they you could just run it down one link and split on the axle.

Thanks Guys, that was the way I was thinking of running everthing, just wanted to make sure there was not a better way.

Yup, hardline to a T-fitting on the axle, then more hardline up the upper link. There is a small piece of soft from the upper link to inside the cab, then hardline again to the MC. Otherwise, there isn't a brakeline in the world long enough to compensate for all the flex these rigs have.

I can probably reccomend a place. I just ordered a kit from http://www.xtremecrawlers.com/catalog/index.php I got the 5 peice kit for my YJ (rear disc) it came with the two front hoses, rear hose, rear caliper hoses, mounting bracketts and copper washers for $110. Just got them today and they look top notch. They will custom make any length and any fitting and can actually do diffrent colors.

Thats what i was thinking. Running up the upper link. Also, I didnt run a vent tube for the rear yet. Also was gonna run itt up the upper link. Just keeps it out and the brake lines out of harms way. I wanted to add a small filter to the end of each vent. Similar to the ones I have on the klune/tcase and tranny. Front has a vent tube, but no filter. They are like $10 at auto zone. Dennis

Thanks Dennis, we made the trip home with no issues and pulled in at 11:00 PM. Man what a long day. We unloaded Sat. morning as I did not go deer hunting for some reason. We were able to get it inside but moving that thing on the driveway all locked up was a bear. Thank you so much for all the help getting it loaded.

Basically anything you want to run and don't want to run slack just run on the upper link (vent hoses, hydro lines, brake lines, etc). I got all my brake parts from Advanced Auto. Just get a spool of hard line and a flare tool, some fittings, and some mounting clips. You can bend the brake line by hand.
