Hi-steer is in the future for my J10 when the GM D60 goes in. My question is due to the fact with Chevys you have to use a 2wd gear box for cross over steering. I have not seen any thing about this with FSJs but I thought I would ask before assuming..... because that makes an '***' out of 'u' and 'ming'.

Since FSJ's don't use the push-pull style steering (draglink to drivers side knuckle) that the 4WD chevy's and dodge's use you will not have to switch the box.
Depending on your setup you may need to change the pitman arm or draglink.

If you search in the off road section there are some pretty good write ups on the D60 high steer routes to look at.

sounded like an off road type question to me .....
Sounded like a Technical Question about a Technical Issue on Full Size Jeeps to me. Maybe I do not understand, is the tech section just for stock tech and the 'offroad' tech section for modified FSJ tech? If this is the case someone may want to change the names to make this clear.
and yes, Waggin' ear covered the question with his answer. Thank you.

, is the tech section just for stock tech and the 'offroad' tech section for modified FSJ tech?
that is correct. there is alot of overlap on what can be considered "general tech" and what could be considered "off road tech". i agree with rogue that your particular question, goes hand in hand with lifing a rig for better clearance, bigger tires, etc. for off road use,and if further discussion was needed,it might get more replys here in off road tech.
nothing at all wrong with you posting it in general tech as it is a techincal sort of question, and alot of the "off road guys" surf there as well. he was just trying to be helpful in moving it to the more appropriate place.
sorry for your confusion,i thot that "off road FSJ tech" was pretty obviously about modding your FSJ for off road use,and the "general FSJ tech" is about tech on stock rigs and putting things back together like they came from the factory after you take them apart ;) so i dont think the names will be changing anytime soon

ditto what scotty said
there is nothing wrong with his answer, however, in his answer he also stated something about changing pitman arms and draglinks and i know the guys who hang over here have chopped spliced cobbled fornicated and otherwise modded swapped and tried pretty much most of the styles of design as well different models of axles, steering boxes, hydraulics and well since you're swapping a 60 in which these guys have done a bunch of times i just thought you didn't want to assume anything and if you're like me then you'll also want to know why you should do something this way instead of that way and these guys know their %$% and this is where they hang out mostly
