Looking for a cheaper alternative to headers. I have heard of and seen "free flow" manifolds for AMC. Here is an example:

Is there any benefit to running these and will they fit? Thanks!
P.s. Mine is a 1990.

Yes, the later manifolds flow better than a set of edlebrock aftermarket heads with headers on them. This is because of the "dogleg" ports that AMC used. if you look at the exhaust ports on any other car manufacturers heads, they are a rectangle. AMCs ports on both the heads and the exhaust manifolds in the later years are shaped like a dogleg. They are like a rectangle with an extra notch cut out of them. If you feel like you need your rig to exhale better than it already does, then just get the heads and manifolds polished, or do it yourself with a dremmel and flex attachment. Hope this helps!

Those exhaust manifolds on ebay are nothing special. the good real high flow manifolds are off a 401 in an AMC car. Getting hard to find but when you see one you'll know. they are huge, you can darn near stick your arm inside fromt he bottom. I good set of free flow factorys will net cost you about $150. They also don't have emissions in them. I have a set, no you can't have them! Wago thing is correct in that AMC head is one of the best flowing heads from the factory.

AMX factor - Any chance you could post or send a picture of these "free flows"? I would love to see them. What cars do they come on? Would they fit on a late GW? Thanks!
