I would have guessed 80 model J20s at first. Probably all 360/727/208s. But no brow? I bet it was an order of 81s and AMC threw in pig nose grilles saving the muscles for the USA. :D What a fleet...

it doesn't look like they have lockouts, but who knows? they could have gotten 208's and said to hell with the selectable lockout feature

 Wow that's alot, what's the tax to get them back here.
somone with a lot of money quick, buy the lot (hint hint zmjeeps or bjsoffraod)
im sure they are cheap because of the auction, and just look at all those wide track fenders! and beds!
you could make a fortune reselling them, or even parting them. they probably have a small warehouse or two full of maintenance parts, too...

Frank... how big is your property
neat they even have wipers on the headlights
How many are there total?
I want one with the cool topper....
They look to be in nice shape, And I would imagine a pretty much stripped down model. Be interesting to find out what Engine/Tranny/T-case combo.
People have bought lots of other, other country's ex-military vehicles and had them shipped over here, this shouldn't be too big of a problem getting them back over here.:D
Who's all in?

Beg to differ. I have bought several military browless J-20's at auctions over the years that had the T-I8/NP208 drivers side setup. I will say that most of the 80 and later military trucks did have part time tcases though.
There are deals like this all over the world. I know where there are at least I00 nice M7I5's in the Phillipines that I found when I was there a few years ago. I can get them for next to nothing but there is no feasible way to ship parts or trucks back to the states and enjoy any kind of decent profit margin.

WOW. I wish I could get a couple of those, they're in such great shape, with the bumpers and all the accesories, d*mn, so unfair :(. Why would they want anyone to buy the whole lot anyway, who would buy it aside form the government of another nation looking for vehicles. I certainly hop they don't get sold to some recycler to be melted down . I hope BJ's or someone manages to buy a bunch of them at least and ship them here, the price would go way to high from the shipping though. Hmm, if I ever take a trip to Sweden, I'll try to bring one back. lol.

Sign me up for 3 at $3K each.
Looks like 40 J-20's most have under 40K miles, one has ~6K miles.
Some might have millitary buyer restictions.

id love one of those caps, when the time comes ill have to find one on my own, since i can't get any of those in the auction. And my own jeep militia boy would that be cool.

I'm guessing AMC sold all the tooling to Sweden to get some money back after they discontinued that body.
All right, we need a strong swimmer, a tow rope and a couple pallets. Maybe more then a couple pallets

Looking at the inventory list for the auction there is 38 of them and they are all 81's. List says 19 Jeep Trucks (2230 kg) and 19 Jeep Truck "Delivery Vans" (2500kg). Not sure what that is.
Edit: Found 2 more on the list that says they are 83 J-20 "Cross-country trucks"

they are pretty sweet! i´ve seen many of those on an airbase in the south of sweden when i worked as a truck driver.. they were used by the swedish air force.. we must hold our thumbs that they will be sold, every single one of them, so they wont meet the same destiny as many volvo "jeeps" did a couple of years ago.. the swedish army decided to destroy every volvo instead of selling them.. they were to oldfashioned and to "dirty" as they like to call them.. i´ll never forget the day when i was watching the news and saw it... the murder of many many volvos... the "green" people were happy but not me.. good use of tax money don´t yall think? many of those volvos were never even used.. they were driven from the factory to a mob storage and lived their life in a mountain.. so let´s PRAY that j20:s will be sold...

Hey!
I think I´m going to the auction in April, might buy me a J20, always wanted one, well lets see how much they will be? I have some memories of riding one of those J20 when I did my military service, the ones with the cabin in the back, the officers were in the front seat. I´d like one with a regular bed.

Funny... Browless LHD front axle J20s with BBQ grilles. Without the brow and with LHD front axle, they would be 81 and up and have qualified for Muscle grilles. I wonder what other left over parts came on them?

Just had an email from the German guy (Holger) who bought all my spare parts (you might know him as the guy who has the diesel Cherokee in the video).
I had told him about the Swedish auction, and he went to it. He's just let me know he has bought one of the J20's and its in immaculate. rust free condition and he drove it home.
I hate him.

Our DRMO sales here in Sicily are mostly CUCV's with the 60/14 axles and the diesels.
I tried to bid on several so I could space A them home on a ship but word was a company that does safari's in Africa buys them all for top $$ and ships them down there for use and parts.
Price went over $2000 a piece.
I just wanted the drivetrain!!
And for 2ND Day...Spangdahlem, Germany would be a great duty station. I stopped there last year with my IH Scout as I was heading to the NL's.
Isn't the restaraunt in town Mom's place....great food, great people!!
We will be doing Belgium and Denmark this month.

If you come to Northern Sweden you'll see rustfree cars allover the place.
A friend of mine drove one of these trucks when has in the service and tells
me time and time again how slippery those dried up military offroad tires were.
There has been some army jeep sales but no one close by my home.
