Never been buffaloed before by adjusting parking brake. I elevate both rear tires and adjust both sides until brake friction is obvious, then back off a little. Jam ebrake pedal to floor and can just barely slow down vehicle on gentle roll in neutral; nothing in reverse. Anybody got a thought on why i can't get more ebrake? Thanks -- Mark

You probably need to take up some slack in the cable.

What year FSJ? Maybe your cables are shot so they are not giving you a solid pull.

If the adjustments that you are doing are at the wheels than you need to adjust the cables back near the transmission. They will need to be adjust in the same manner that you adjust the shoes. If you have a haynes manual they have some pretty good instructions.

There are emergency brake cables that run underneath the tranny pan to either side. Each cable has a 1/2" inch adjusting nut to remove slack.
