On my 1990 GW a continual clicking noise is heard from the speedometer while driving. If the speedometer is disconnected the noise is eliminated. Has anyone had a situation similar to this, was it the gears internally in the speedometer or just the cable. If it were to be the speedometer how would I go about recalibrating the correct mileage with a unit from the salvage yard

Please advise

Thanks

David

Its probably the odometer that is clicking. I had a car that did that. You might take it apart and see if there is some trash that got in there. My odometer in the other car got to where it would stick on certain digits. I got rid of the car before fixing it. Hope this helps.

I recently changed out my speedo and had to learn as I went. I pulled the old odometer and put it in the new speedo so I wouldn't have to go through correcting the mileage. If you get to that point there is a trick about it. Let me know how it goes.

depends on the sound. could be the cable needing lubrication. mine makes noise at slow speeds. I don't hear it at highway speeds. A job for this coming summer. too cold now.
