i deal with Yukon and they do not offer a chromolly shaft for the front or rear of a wide track 44 was woundering if anyone has came across a manufacture who does make or will make these, i know a custom made shaft will probly be a bit expensive tough...

Moser can make fronts and rears. Currie can make fronts, and maybe rears. The really won't cost anymore than an over-the-counter shaft.

I have been down this road maybe a little out of balance but I just broke a unbreakable set of 4340 chromoly heat treated cryogenically frozen shafts like they were made out of butter and I was being really easy on them. I guess I could have gotten a bad set. I would really think about a front Dana 60 before going back to any strong Dana 44 shaft. Their are some that get away with it no doubt but I couldnt get more than 40 miles on the road and 1/4 mile of trial use.

sure those are chromo shafts? They seem to imply they are 'stock' or 'standard' quality.

Well, as far as the chromo's being strong enough. We broke the side gear out of our detroit locker in our front dana44 last weekend in our cj-6 on 35s. Its got a 4spd and 538 gears, so it makes lots of torque. I thought we broke the inner axle, but took it apart and the yukon chromo was fine. If yukon can make them, they have a lifetime warranty, no questions asked. We also bought the yukon super joints. I would do it again.
