View Full Version : FSJ T-Shirt Warning

Millerluck

My wife orderd me this T-Shirt from these guys on 7-27-06 for my B-day.

http://www.generaljeep.com/aj/2520_1976_JEEP_LINE.htm

No shirt, and they won't answer any E-mails.

My wife is flipping out. Somehow they twised a Visa payment into a paypal transaction. We can't go after them unless we cancel our Pay-pal acount (so says Pay-pal), which then screws up our E-Bay account.....And on and on.

This is for $26.22. Not really something you can spend a lot of effort and time to run down.

So...Long story short stay away from generaljeep.com

We are going to try and keep contacting them.
Wish us luck.

Thanks for letting us rant.

Buisnesses should learn to not mess with people...especially people on these forums. We are large in power. I have no doubt these guys will not mess you over once everyone on these forums sends some e-mails...good luck with clearing up everything.

I searched a little more and it looks like Mr. Barr owns IRapture.com, a web hosting company. I looked at that site and he may be registering and managing domain names for others.

If he turns out not to be "General Jeep", I would pressure him for as much information as possible. As he owns the domain name, he has some, if not all responsibility for what goes on there.

Well, I'll swing by for a look to start.
That's sort of a ramshackle neighborhood down by the Humane Society, mostly trailers and older delapidated stuff. Might not even be a real place.

Wow Janie is quick with the rope...but before we start looking for a tall tree and a skittish horse how about the forum as a whole start emailing this sucker and let him know how we feel about people who don't fulfill deals

MajorJeep@generaljeep.com

I'm firing off one along with the link to this forum so he/she/it can decide if they want to piss off a large group like this one.

Sounds like a very prudent first step Wayne.
Done.

I would ask folks not to use profanity or get out of line, there is still power in numbers when presented at the correct place, time and in an appropriate manner. Also, in essence, you are also representing Larry and IFSJA.
Thanks,

How about this Tad

To whom it may concern

One of our own had ordered a T-shirt from your company back in July and has yet to receive the product.
He has voiced his concern to our 11,000+ members of the International Full Size Jeep Association http://www.ifsja.org/ (http://www.ifsja.org/) over the lack of response to his emails and the questionability to fulfill his order.
Now we may not be the largest group to order from your establishment, but we also belong to many smaller localized four wheel drive groups as well as custom cars/bikes/trucks clubs. Most of us have families who also belong to groups that may be influenced not to procure any product you sell.

A simple T-shirt may not affect your bottom-end, but literally tens of thousands of potential customers who will not purchase from your business might be something to concider.

Thank you
Wayne S

You are a jackass. Thanks for ripping off a fellow jeeper by not delivering a t-shirt that you sold in July. I will never buy a single thing from you and will suggest the same to others. You will be permanately affixed into my signature for all to read that your are a scam artist. We help one another not rip each other off. You should be ashamed. I was about 1 block off in my mapquest search.
2933 E. Richards Row

This is a moderatly exclusive neighborhood here known as "Winterhaven".
I understand we can not directly connect the seller to the ISP info, but no one here looks to be moving soon, like this weekend at any rate.
I must say the lack of the traditional front door for this area is a bit odd.
Keep me posted Larry, it's quick trip there.
I'll keep tabs tomorrow and over the weekend, but I doubt an ISP is being run out of that address, but who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

I would hope not
I certianly do not intend or advocate any ill will towards anyone.
Realtors take pic's all the time, so do artists, reporters, I'm sure there are others.
There's no address sign visible.
It could be any house on any street in any (well almost) city.

Yep. I'm a real estate appraiser, I've been chased out of neighborhoods before, and confronted by property owners (the most interesting was Jesse James when I was taking pictures of his bike shop in Long Beach, CA), and definately questioned by police when taking pictures of banks and government buildings. Bottom line is, don't go on the property and you can take pictures of whatever you want that you can see from public property.

Me, I'm hoping this was just a slightly unprofessional misstep by the vendor, looks like he's got some cool Jtruck shirts.

don't feel too bad. I recently paid $150 for a factory technical service manual and received a 2000 page xeroxed manual with holes punched in it that probably cost about $40 to reproduce and ship. At least the information is there and legible.

the link says "unofficial jeep graphics"

Also, did you read the fine print

1. Shipping in United States and Canada by USPS Priority Mail. To all International by Air Mail.
2. Please Allow 3 Weeks for processing and delivery.
3. International Orders Welcome

I think there was a typo for the "allow 3 weeks" should be "allow AT LEAST 3 months, if not more"

I had given a negative feedback on a transaction when i received a product that was claimed to be new but received a used and damaged surfboard. The seller gave me a negative feedback as a buyer to try to get me to remove my feedback. He attacked me personally in his comments by saying i was a bad ebayer & not to do business with me (i only stated what i received and didn't get personal) so thinking you're going to show him is a waste of time. File a dispute with ebay and they will attempt to contact them. If they do not respond you can then also elevate the dispute to a claim and i think after 30 more days if they refuse to reply or work with you they side with you. Ebay will get your money back if they have and open account with money in it. Good luck.
