I'm swapping a 305/4L60E/NP241 into the '80 Chero. Right now I am working on getting the clearances/angles right before I commit to bolting it in. This combo is longer than the stock setup (slip yoke on the 241, etc). I know getting a SYE kit would help, but I don't want to spend that much right now. So the question is:
What is an acceptable working angle for the driveshaft at the yokes, using stock components? I know they must be the same, and I can adjust that by tilting the engine and raising/lowering the T-case. This will be a DD and camping rig, so I need decent U-joint life. Thanks

heres a beter swap... 351M,C6,NP205 think about it.
i have field tested it to be bulllet proof other than (the front u-joints in a d44) need cromoly's and 760x joints

edit: sorry bout the above ima f@$d man.
most stock(stock built) d-shafts will handle 22degrees... a nice 30deg. hi-angle will run constant at that and can handle up to 40deg at times.
