Any folks considering a 6.2 swap into their FSJ may find this information worthwhile.
GM used a 12-14 tooth pitch for the flexplate / flywheel ring gear, and starter drive on MOST applications. (SBC, BBC, 6'es, ETC)
HOWEVER, the 6.2 / 6.5 (and 5.7, for the niche freaks out there) used 10-pitch gear teeth. The flexplate, while nearly the same diameter as a 168-tooth 'normal' Chevy ring gear, is ACTUALLY 139 teeth. If you are using an engine / transmission / starter / flywheel (flexplate) that all came together this is a non-issue,
BUT if you had a complete 465 / 208 setup out of a gas truck and wanted to put it behind the 6.2 Diesel, you need to change the ring gear at the same time you are getting the flywheel match-balanced to the 6.2 flexplate. This little issue kept me from being able to attend the Tuttle Creek get-together this weekend.
Hope some may find it helpful
