I had a question a few days ago about blowby that accumulates in the air cleaner housing. I had the same thing on my Waggie a year or two ago that was fixed with the PCV replacement.
When I checked the PCV on my J10 it was holding a very strong vacuum so I think it is working reasonably well. What I did on this truck was buy one of the crankcase filters that doesn't fit on our aircleaners and drill a hole where the little weinerthat the crankcase/oil filler hose fits on. I used a 7/8" hole saw and the pilot bit went inside the weiner and made a nice hole for the filter to fit it's weiner through. Clipped the little spring doo-dad on and done. Oh yeah, and a hose clamp on the air cleaner end.
This may be wishful thinking and I may have just made a reservior for the oil mist to accumulate in but it seems a bunch easier to clean up and the actual air filter element won't get soaked and grimy so quick.
I suppose another salvage air cleaner housing would work that already has the crankcase filter. Why doesn't the one inside the oil filler cap filter this out?
Later folks,
