part time kit problems

i installed the mile marker part time kit and first off i put the shift fork in back wards so the front axel would try to engage goin down the road. so i fixed that now i cant get the thing to engage and it makes a kinda rattling noise going down the road. i know i have it in rite but i think i busted the vacume deal. the case started rattling like a week or two after installation. it sound like the front axel is still trying to engage. im pretty sure i busted the vacume deak though...please help im lost. :mad:

Sounds like the vacuum diaphram unit is stuck halfway . I would drop the back half again and remove the vaccuum diaphram and check it with a vaccuum pump to ensure it is working.. I installed my kit only to find out my vacuum diaphram was shot after I put it all back together. Also make sure you did'nt drop the plastic shoes into the casefrom the fork. Good luck.

my switch on the dash..that is where i mover it to was bad and letting the frekin shift rod fly all over in there.. thanks..oh by the way i almost dropped the fork ends hehe
