Looking really good. How's it perform now as compared to before?

OK, while im not done yet, it was enough to pull out of the shop and get a few hours of abuse in. First thing was the rear shaft pulled apart. Never did that with leafs! Needs to be 2" longer. I went down a wall bank that was about 15' str8 down. Almost fillped and at the bottom, the rear was completly vertical and off the creek bank. So Thats why it seperated. I have a ton of spline at ride hieght, cause both my shafts are long travel splines, so I will have them add a new tube thats a little longer.
Still need to dial in the coils, as in the same instance, one of the coils lost the bottom retainer and the bottom coil was sitting on the axle. Luckily the water was shallow, and was able to find the retainer. Just need to adjust my tender triple rate spring.
The full hydro works better than I expected. I bought a 9.6 valve, so I have like 2.6 turns lock to lock. Fast, but I really like it on the trail. pieced together pieces from psc, summit, and surplus center. Ram is a big one at 2.5x1.5x8, but over kill is good.
Dont have the top part of the harnesses in yet, just lying there for the pics. Still have some cage work, like more up front and some supports that tie in the coil mounts. I like the 42's, but they might be just a little to big. May sell and go back to 38's.
The four link is totally 200% better than I expected. I can push it to the floor, and it dosen't squat or raise in the back. Just sits perfectly level where it should. I used the four link calculator off pirate, and cannot be happier with the performance of what I built 4 link wise. Double triangulated!
Klune and twin stick work great, although I haven't yet memorized the shift patterns, and hit a long steep hill in nuetral, and had to fly down it, trying to avoid things until I rolled to a stop. Did I mention that I don't have brakes yet! I really wanted to test things out, and figured with the crawl ratio in the 190:1 range, I'd be fine. And I would if I would have been in a gear! But it was kinda like a real life roller coaster. The low/low/low of the 205/klune/t18 is just stupid. Really cool.
Hydraulic clutch works great. Engine runs great. Really am happy with it so far. Oh yea, Im also just sta8 piped out both sides for now. Nieghbors have loved me the last couple of days! I bought some tight 90*'s and plan on welding up about what I had b4, just a little tighter cause I turned my knuckles, and now the pinion hits my old turns. Just had to have something on thier for my 02 sensor to work. Plan to do the 2.5 into a y pipe thats goes out 3" into my flowmaster.
I guess thats about it for now, but Im sure I will think of a few more details. Any questions just ask. Dennis

Dude, that's a sick *** ride. I love everything about it except for the front. The rest of your tube work looks really good and evil looking but the front is too boxy. Kinda looks like you built it without a bender. If you chopped out that front clip and added a small stinger/prerunner type bumper with integrated winch mount that would really cap off the look IMO. Maybe something to do next time you're itching to do some more work on the beast. The only other thing I was going to mention was to brace the coilover mounts but you already hit on that.
BTW, how did you fuel inject your motor? Did you use the holley kit?

Yea, I have been eyeballing the front, but for now, just wanted to get it rolling. And yes, the front was done b4 I had a bender, or was I on a bender? But seriously, I have plans to cut out the front, Not just because of the look, but it has a ton of weight built into that bumper/brush gaurd/winch thingy. It actually was several different pieces that all fit my truck when it was a truck. I cut them down and welded them all together.
Andrew,I used the kit from customefis.com I really havent had any problems with it. Starts and runs strong. He sells a multiport kit that would prolly kick ***. How do you like the 42's? At 108" wheel base, they are close to being too big. It may also be in my mind, and maybe because I had a small vac leak, but it seems not asw powerful with them as opposed to the 38.5's. with the 38's, I could spin all 4's with just a slight tap, but with the 42's,I had to get a little higher into the rpm's b4 getting the spin I needed tp clean them. I think my tires and rims weigh way too much. But again, first time out, havent had it out in like 2 years, so it may be all in my head. I gear down from 456 to 513 to try and compensate.

Cool, I remember you talking about that customefis.com guy now. The reason I was asking is because Orangecherokee is going EFI so he's looking at options.
Man, I gotta tell you I LOVE my 42s. I honestly think they are the perfect size for everything I want to do. I can't fathom running another tire after running this size. Not too big, not too small, just right. Now, I do have aluminum rims and the Iroks are quite a bit lighter than the TSLs if my memory serves me. My 38.5" claws on steel rims weighed about 140lbs each. My setup now is about 120lbs each. Not bad for such a big jump. My buggy has tons of power, I've never wished for more. My wheelbase is right at 109" also; again I think a perfect wheelbase for 42s. I'd be willing to bet if you go back to 38.5s you'll regret it.

My steelies and 42's weigh over 162lbs each. I'd love to get down to 120. Prolly my next big buy will be aluminum doubles and some lighter tires.

Holy donkey balls. That's heavy man. I still would stick with the 42" size because I think that is the perfect tire for your wheelbase. Sell the TSLs, get some Iroks and aluminum rims and call it a day.
When are we going to go wheelin?

Scotty, if I can get brakes done, then maybe. Andrew, I would like to go to the new place in Harlan KY. It is supposed to be a really great place. Something like kymc.org I hope to get everything completed within the next few weeks.

Looking good Dennis, Zack is getting ready to do the EFI thing to The War Wagon. His good friend at school is part owner of PCM's for less so I hope things go smooth.
