NP 208 swap

Is an NP 208 a direct bolt in replacement for a 229? Is the transmission adapter the same piece?

Yes and Yes. Just get the rear driveshaft from the NP 208 donor and you're set!

So long as the 208 is from a FSJ. As KimB said...get the rear driveshaft too.

If donor is A/T FSJ otherwise there may be some input shaft spline differences.
