This has bothered me for YEARS!!! Never notice it in Wags or Cheros, then I get a J Truck and that HORRID Problem is back everytime I go back to a J Truck. I grit my teeth and live with it. Still though, all the topics posted here of quirks and this and that why this why that. I never see this complaint......WHAT IS IT? Here is my Complaint with EVERY J Truck I have EVER owned, (beleive that to be 9 J Trucks)

MY COMPLAINT:

Night Time Driving: Reflection in the windshield from the back window. Please do not tell me no one is bothered with this problem!!!

Hmm Pete. I guess I've been driving pickups too long...I either never noticed it or just got used to it and don't think about it anymore? I'll research this tomorrow night, ;)

Yes Crazyman I have noticed this. Its all depending on how the light reflects off the rear window. Window tinting does not stop the reflection from the front. It is distracting to me but I would'nt want any other vehicle to drive.

... I had that reflection problelm bad with a '76 Datsun PU. They used to make a sun shield out of preferated plastic film that was black on one side and chrome on the other. I put the film on the back glass with the black side forward. I could still see out the back OK and no more reflections. It was so good I kept the truck 12 years before the wife made me sell it(too many trucks in the driveway).

Have a good one http://www.eqluclin.com/forum/images/smiles/violin.gif http://www.nagca.com/forum/images/smiles/1band.gif http://www.eqluclin.com/forum/images/smiles/guitarist.gif http://www.eqluclin.com/forum/images/smiles/dance.gif and CUL.. Don S..

I've noticed it as well, but only in the mirror. So at night I move the mirror up so it doesn't reflect anything and use the outside rear view.

Yup I have the same problem. But hey, if you look at the refection thru the other reflection just right, you can see the instrument panel and outside the windshield correctly in another reflection, and drive it that way. Now what other vehicle has this option? :D Problem is you cant see more than 5 feet infront of the truck when you are doing that.

That 1 way window screen stuff they had in the 70's would work real well too.

Whenever the glare gets too bad, I just close my eyes and veer away from the honking

Who are you going to complain to? The manufacturer?

Hey Pete, I was paying attention today and in the bright sun light it even reflects also. :D :D :D smile.gif

I'm not sure what is wrong with you guys but if you just turn down the interior lights then you can't even notice the glare. No complaints because it is not an issue!

OR, just take the darn back window out! :D

Lindel
11-30-2003, 11:22 PM
Pete, if you wait long enough, the back glass will develop cancer and fall out, no more problem.

I've got the same problem with my '03 Silverado, but doesn't bother me much anymore.

Take the inside mirror out (or remove the glass from it), and the problem will disappear.

Is this different from other pickup trucks?? I just got one of the new black framed sliders. I wonder if that will help. It's getting dark tinted, as well. Hopefully that's enough. I never drove mine enough at night to have a real problem. I drive my '84 at night now, and it's not too bad, I just flip up on the rear view switch.

Interesting. I've not ridden in a J truck enough to judge the answer. However, I never remember having that type of problem riding in my friend's '99 Ranger P/U.

I don't see headlights but I can see my dashlights reflecting somewhat with my 66 Glad.

Well, I know what you are talking about. It’s just one of many things you might see if you stare at the inside of a j truck windshield too long.

I never really thought about it and being a "graveyard w*rker" it seems I should because I really only drive at night. I do hate the mirror because it doesn't seem to be large enough and is not a day/night type.

Love beads ??? Sure I need some more rattles on this lady.

Gun rack...now there is an idea but then I would have to move my fishing rack (narrower than a gun rack). Of course I don't fish but it makes a great place to hang my hat.

I will trade with you...your "truck" for a older F*rd Bronco, you know the one with a wheel base the same side both in width and length and then you would not have the problem. :D
